A video MCP server your AI can make whole films with
MCP is the open standard that lets an AI use outside tools. Typecut’s MCP server gives your AI everything a film needs: voice, music, pictures, motion, checks and renders.
Set it up
- 1
Copy the address
This is the whole server. No install, no local process.
https://app.typecut.ai/api/v1/mcp - 2
Add it to your AI
Claude and ChatGPT: add it as a custom connector and sign in once. Cursor and other clients: create a key in Settings → API keys and send it as a Bearer header.
- 3
Ask for a film
Describe the film in your own words. Your AI plans it, voices it and builds it in a Typecut project you can open in the editor.
What your AI does next
The same steps, in order, whichever AI runs them.
create_projectLays the film out: chapters, then scenes, with the narration for each.voice_projectVoices the script. Every word gets a start and an end time.set_musicPicks or makes the music and lays a beat grid under the film.find_mediaFinds pictures and clips for each line, or makes new ones.put_scenesBuilds the scenes, timed to the words and the beat.lookLooks at its own frames and fixes what is off before you watch.
Questions
What is an MCP server?
A service an AI can call as a tool, over the Model Context Protocol. Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Cursor all support it.
Does it cost extra?
No. The connector is on every plan, the free one included. Work your AI does uses the same credits as work in the editor.
Can I see what my AI made?
Yes. Everything lands in a normal Typecut project. Open it in the editor to watch, change a line or re-voice a scene.
