Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026
This policy explains how cancellations, refunds, and credit returns work on Typecut. It sits alongside our Terms of Service; where the two differ on billing, this policy governs.
Subscriptions
Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, in US dollars via Stripe. You can cancel at any time from Billing in your account settings. Cancelling stops future charges — it does not end your current period. Your plan and any remaining credits stay available until the end of the period you have already paid for.
We do not provide partial refunds for unused time in a period that has already started, except where required by law or where we have made a billing error.
Credits and credit packs
Credits are the unit of usage on Typecut: generating scenes, voiceover, and video renders draws them down. Plan credits are granted at the start of each billing period and do not roll over into the next one. Credit packs are one-time purchases that are added to your balance and are not tied to a billing period.
Unused credit packs can be refunded within 14 days of purchase if none of the purchased credits have been spent. Once credits have been used to generate content, they are not refundable — the underlying compute has been consumed.
When a generation fails
You are not charged for work we fail to deliver. If a scene, voiceover, or render fails, the credits held for it are returned to your balance automatically — you do not need to contact us or ask for them back. If you believe a failed generation was not refunded, email us and we will correct it.
Credits are spent on generation, not on outcome. Output is produced by AI and may not match what you had in mind. A result you do not like is not itself grounds for a refund, though we do want to hear about it.
Billing errors and duplicate charges
If you were charged twice, charged after cancelling, or charged an amount that does not match the plan you selected, contact us and we will refund the incorrect charge in full.
Your statutory rights
If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase of digital services within 14 days. Because Typecut delivers digital content immediately, you are asked to consent to immediate performance at checkout, which ends that right for the portion of the service already performed. Nothing in this policy limits any consumer right that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you.
How to request a refund
Email hello@typecut.ai from the address on your account, with the date and amount of the charge and a short description of the problem. We aim to respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
If something looks wrong with a charge, please contact us before opening a dispute with your bank — it is almost always faster, and we would rather fix it than argue about it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. The policy in force at the time of your purchase is the one that applies to it.
