Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: November 6, 2026
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everything you, or an AI agent working for you, create, upload, store or share with Typecut. If you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask us at hello@typecut.ai before you make it.
Content you may not make or share
- Any sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualises minors. We report it to the authorities.
- Sexual or intimate content of a real person without their consent, and any sexually explicit content.
- Content that threatens, harasses or bullies people, or incites violence or hatred against people for who they are.
- Content that promotes terrorism, violent extremism, self-harm or suicide.
- Deceptive content about real people: a real person shown saying or doing something they did not, impersonation, or a cloned voice used without that person’s permission.
- Election and civic deception: fake statements by candidates or officials, false information about how, when or where to vote, or content made to look like real news footage of events that did not happen.
- Scams, fraud, phishing, fake reviews or testimonials, or content that pretends to come from someone it does not.
- Content that infringes copyright, trademarks, privacy or publicity rights.
- Instructions that help people make weapons capable of mass harm, or commit serious crimes.
- Medical, legal or financial claims presented as professional advice in a way that could cause real harm.
- Anything illegal where you live or where your audience is.
Things you may not do
- Create several free accounts, use throwaway email addresses, or automate sign-up, to get more free credits.
- Share, sell or rent your account, login or API keys, or resell the Service without a written agreement with us.
- Get around rate limits, credit checks, plan limits, watermarks, or safety filters.
- Probe, scan or test the Service’s security, overload it, or interfere with other users.
- Scrape the Service or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows this despite this policy.
- Upload malware, or use share links or scenes to host phishing pages, malware or tracking code.
- Use Outputs to train an AI model that competes with Typecut or with the AI providers that made them.
- Use a connected AI subscription that is not yours, or connect one for anyone but yourself.
- Spam: sending messages, comments or uploads at scale to people who did not ask for them.
AI providers’ rules apply too
Typecut uses AI models from other companies to write, speak, draw and animate. Content made with a model is also subject to that provider’s usage rules, including OpenAI’s Usage Policies, Anthropic’s Usage Policy, Google’s Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy, and the usage rules of ElevenLabs and the other voice, picture and video providers we use. This policy covers their main rules; where a provider is stricter, its rule applies to that model. A provider’s filters may refuse a request even when this policy would allow it.
Labelling AI content
When you publish realistic AI-generated or AI-altered video, voice or images, label them as AI-made where the law or the platform requires it (YouTube, TikTok and Meta all do for realistic content), and always when they show a real person. Do not remove markers we add to files to show they were made with AI.
How we enforce this policy
We use automated checks and reports from people. When something breaks this policy we may refuse the request, remove or disable the content or share link, remove a cloned voice, limit features, pause or close the account, and remove credits obtained through abuse. We tell the account owner what we did and why, unless the law or safety prevents it, and they can reply to contest the decision. We report child sexual abuse material and credible threats to life to the relevant authorities. To report content, see Report content.
